Part of the Armenian population already moved away from here earlier on when the news had spread of the deportation of the entire Armenian population of the village of Dört Yol, situated nearby – from what was heard to be an area south of Aleppo (!). It is clear to the Armenians that the government wishes to use the opportunity of acting ruthlessly against them now that their former protectors are no longer there. Out of Fakhri Pasha's own mouth I heard that they will not shy away from violence and even injustices. It seems that this time the end is to justify the means. The opinion of the local Armenians towards Germany under these circumstances need not be emphasised.
