The atrocities against the Armenians have taken on such an extent during the last few weeks despite our repeated representations that it now becomes our duty to express our definite disapproval of these occurrences. On several occasions Turkish officers, clergymen and other persons in the interior have pronounced that we are the instigators of these atrocities. Such a compromising attitude should, if necessary, be emphatically revoked.
