Guhar was exiled with her parents.
On reaching Islahie men were separated from the caravan. Chained together and
taken away to a little distance, all of them were shot dead. The rest of the
caravan was sent further on and reached Aleppo. Here, Guhar and her mother
profiting by an opportunity, succeeded in coming out of the caravan. They hid
themselves in the city till the danger was over. After a time, she was married
to an Armenian who had lost his wife and thought her dead. They lived for
eleven years together in the district of Deir-el-Zor. Once, Marie, No. 0997,
also rescued by us, got information about her long lost husband. Inquiring into
the matter we ascertained that her husband was the same person, who had married
above mentioned Guhar eleven years ago. The matter was brought before the head
of the Armenian Church, who decided upon the divorce of Guhar and Marie's
return to her husband. Thus, we gave Marie and took Guhar into our rescue home.
We found her father in Egypt and she went to live with him.
