Toros' father want to America before the persecution. He was exiled with his mother and one younger brother. On the road his mother and brother were killed leaving the miserable being in the desert to the pitiless care of the savage tribes. Toros was brought by an Arab to his tents, then he was sold from one to another, till he came into the possession of a wealthy man in Veranshehir, whom he served for many years without being greeted with a friendly word. Once, wearied of that unendurable life, he fled to Hassitshe, from whence by our agent he was sent to us, wretched in appearance. We shall take care of him till we locate his father in America.
