Hovhannes'
mother died before the war. He himself came on the road with his father,
sister, and thousands of Armenians. His father was killed in Rakka and he does
not know what became of his sister. Hovhannes came to us in a very bad condition.
He was very ill of Syphilis, and we had to isolate him for a long time. After a
good treatment he has almost recovered. He is so happy to be in our home, and
having good nursing we hope he may soon be all right again. The poor boy has
been among the Kurds for twelve years, and he has never seen that anybody took
care of him. Fortunately our agent in Arabpounar one day found him and sent him
on to us.
Hovhannes is always sick.
Syphilis can hardly speak.
Left our care: May 1, 1929. Relatives, brother in
France.
1929 July, Hovhannes came back to us and is now since January 1, 1930
living in Basmadian's home.
He is still sick and cannot go to his brother in
France.
