His father died before the war and Marsoub was placed in
a German orphanage in Mezreh. In his holidays he went to his mother in
Sarkamish where he stayed a month every year.
Suddenly the Armenians were gathered and exiled. Marsoub
was among them. After two days the caravan was attacked by Kurds who robbed and
killed. Masroub was wounded and hid himself under the corpses. When the
murderers were away he tried to flee yet he fainted on the road. A Turk found
him and took him to his house where he was a servant many years.
In the neighbouring house there was an Armenian girl No.
1848 Hayganoush. She had been taken away from her parents by a Turk. Their
masters allowed them to marry some years ago. Newly they ere exiled.
