Mariam remembers but her own name, the name of her
parents and her birthplace. We were quite astonished that she could not tell us
anything about the time of deportation, and how she had arrived among the
Kurds, where she has stayed so many years. Her mind may have been disturbed by
all the sufferings she has been exposed to. Once when our agent went to a
Kurdish village for searching Armenians he discovered Mariam and persuaded her
to follow him.
She was ill when she arrived to us but by a good nursing we hope
that she soon will recover.
Left our care: July 14,
1927. Relatives, mother Aleppo.
