His father died during the deportation. Habet was deported with his mother until Khartoos where he was dragged away from his mother by a Kourd who took him to his village.
Habet fled after one year from this place and went to Diarbeker, sometime later to Harpoot.
In Harpoot he met Armenians who were emigrating. He joined them and succeeded in coming to Aleppo.

Habet found some work and became selfsupporting.
