After
taking the father to the military service in the Turkish army, the mother was
deported with her seven sons and two daughters. After travelling months long
walking along the roads and steppes, they reached the Syrian area. Near Bab
Arabs attacked the caravan. Bedros was taken to the house of one of them and
stayed there until his recent rescue. Bedros was the shepherd of the Arab. An
Armenian soldier who was stationed there helped him to escape. When he came to
us we admitted him. He does not remember the names of his mother and sisters,
and he never had any news from them. He also tells us that there are still some
Armenian girls living in the same village who were illegally detained there.
Left our care: March 15, 1929. Soldier.
