PICTURE

            The whole family was deported in the direction of Mardin. Her father was killed on the road she and her sisters were taken away by the Kourds of that country.

            Hamesd was in the village Amound near Mardin. She was informed by some friend that her mother was in Mossoul. The same night she fled to Mardin, where she had a relative of hers. From Mardin she was sent to Mossoul where she met her mother after a cruel separation of several years.

            Hamesd came with her mother to Aleppo with the intention to continue their journey to Constantinople where she has an uncle. They were both short on money so we took them in our house.

 

 

Hamesd learned embroidery and became selfsupporting. Entered our camp May 1, 1923.
