His father and elder brother were put in prison and killed there. Armenian women and children were deported to the Mardin region. Arriving in Zor the whole caravan was robbed by Kourds and Turks. After robbing these unhappy people they began to massacre them.
Saïd lost his mother and sisters at that time and he remained alone in an unknown place. An Arab from there took him to his farm and kept him as a farmer and sometimes as a camel-driver. He was well treated by his master but he remembered his nationality and desired to return to his people. He fled to Mardin and with the assistance of the Armenian priest he came to Hassitshe and our agent sent him to us.
