This boy does not know anything about his parents, birth-place or even not his Christian name. 

                  He but knows that he always has been living in an Arab family in a village near Ras-el-Ain. 

                  He always thought that he was an Arab till one day some children told him that he was an Armenian. 

                  He tried to flee twice but his master followed and found him. The third time he succeeded and came to Deir-el-Zor, where our agent found him and sent him to us.  

                  His uncle is here in Aleppo and he has told us about Vartkes.
