Garabed was deported with his family to Hassitshe. His father was killed there, his mother died of emotion. He himself was taken to the tent of a nomadic Arab who kept him as a shepherd. His brother and sister too were taken to different Arab families.
Garabed lived nine years among the Arab tribe always working for his living. Unfortunately, he could not locate his brother and sister because they were at different tribes.
Garabed desired to flee but in the desert it seemed impossible. Once the tribe camped in Khaboor near Der-el-Zor. Garabed fled at once to our agent's house. Once there he was sent by motor-car to Aleppo.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
