Nevart was married in Diarbekir. Before the deportation had started she had gone to visit her family in Veran Shehir, being there Turkey declared war to the Allied powers and Armenians were massacred or deported. Nevart could not return to her husband but was exiled with her parents to the region of Mardin. Kourds of different villages attacked the caravan of deportation and she was taken with her sister to a Kourdish village. After two years Nevart was sold by her owner to another Kourd who married her.

Later her Kourdish husband bought also her sister and they lived together nine years among the Kourds. When Armenians were leaving Turkey she went to the Armenian priest who sent her and her sister to our Der-el-Zor agent.
