Yohannes
was exiled from Bafra with his parents, brothers and sisters. After some days
journey his father, older brother and he himself succeeded in coming out of the
caravan and hiding themselves when the others were driven further on. They returned
to Bafra but there the government put his father and brother in prison and
killed them. A Turk took Yohannes in his house, where he stayed five years as a
slave. Then he a again was exiled in the direction Harpoot, Aghana Maden. There
a Kurd dragged away with him and he became a shepherd with that man seven
years. He often met with Toros and Garabed and when he heard that those two had
made up their minds to flee. He joined them and one day they all of them
arrived in Aleppo.
