Gurdji
was 8 years old, when she was exiled with her parents. Her brother was taken as
a soldier in the Turkish army.
In the caravan she lost her
parents, and the poor child was left alone. After a time an Arab took her and
brought her to his tent in a village "Abdul Arirha" 2 years after he
sold her to another Arab, who married her. Often she was ill-treated.
One day she heard about our home
in Aleppo and fled to Deir-el-Zor from where she was sent to us.
