Sarkis was exiled with his parents and a brother to
Deir-el-Zor. After staying there a year, they with thousands of Armenians were
lead to a river Khabur. A terrible massacre took place. Sarkis' parents were
killed before his eyes what became of his brother he does not know. An Arab
dragged Sarkis away with him, and till now he served that man as a shepherd.
One day he met with an Armenian Chauffeur, who persuaded him to follow him to
our rescue-home.
Left our care: July 10,
