            Garabed's father was killed by some officials of the Turkish government. Garabed and his mother were deported to Der-el-Zor and remained seven years there supporting themselves working in Arab houses.

            Garabed's mother died in Der-el-Zor and he remained with his aunt. The latter was too poor to support him, an Armenian man pitied him and sent him to us.

 

 

            His mother was living with her brother in Deir-el-Zor, and he went to live with them.
