Karekin's father was a soldier in the Turkish army and died there. He was deported with his mother to Killis. Karekin's mother died there and the boy was taken to a Turkish family.
Karekin was the servant of the Turk for seven years. An Armenian woman who was living in the same house was going to Aleppo. She took the boy with her to Aleppo.
Karekin was received by us on November 18, 1922.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
Karekin was received in the orphanage of the Near East Relief.
