In the beginning of the deportation Kourds attacked their village. All Armenians left their houses and fled to the environing villages and mountains. Karekin went to a village named Gozarag where he lived one year with a Kourd but being ill-treated he fled to Bedevi and lived there for six years as a shepherd.
Karekin tried many times to flee but could not succeed. Some Kurds of his village were going to Aleppo on business. He left the whole flock in the mountain and followed them.
His uncle Haig is in America.
Karekin soon found some work and became selfsupporting.
Left our care: December 31, 1922. Selfsupporting.
