While his father was serving in the Turkish army, Hrant
was deported with his mother and two brothers to Malatia. The mother could not
stand all the fatigues of the deportation, she became ill and died on the road.
A Turk from Sivas took his two brothers with him to his town. Hrant was taken
by a Kurd to a Kurdish village where he remained all this time cultivating the
fields of his Kurdish master. Lately a muleteer told him about our Rescue work
and our Reception house and even proposed him to take him to us. Hrant was only
too glad to come out of the darkeness. He fled and followed the muleteer who
brought him straight on to us.
Left our care: April 30,
1928 Selfsupporting, Farmer.
Hrant died of consumption in
the autumn 1929.
We support his wife and his
little son.
