In the beginning of the
persecutions her husband set forth with the intention to cross the frontiers of
Turkey and reach Russia. Unfortunately he could not succeed and was killed.
Holo was deported with her
children. The caravan reached Urfa and after a few days rest it was sent
forward on. Holo was unable to continue the troublesome journey, thus, she was
left behind, while the caravan continued its march. An Arab pitied and took her
to his village, where she lived 11 years working for her master. When Holo
heard about our rescue-home, she asked the Arab to let her go. He consented and
allowed her to go to Aleppo.
She is now in our house
waiting anxiously the arrival of her long-lost children too, if they are still
alive.
