Minas' father died before the war.
He came on the road with his mother and two sisters. In Surudj his sisters were
taken away by the Turks. He with his mother were sent forward on until they
reached the village Injersi. There he was separated from his mother and was
brought to the house of a Kurd, named Ali-Taami. Minas lived six months with
that man, then he fled to the village "utshan, where he remained eleven
years working as a simple shepherd.
One day he asked recompense for his
work. His master did not refuse it and paid him one £. per year. But when he
started for Aleppo to find his relatives, his master sent some of his servants
who robbed him on the road taking back all the money that he had earned during
eleven years. The poor boy reached our home wretched in appearance.
