Manushag's father was a soldier. Her mother went to Haini
with four children to live with her brothers. There they were not deported, but
a prominent Turk forced Manushag to marry him. The mother returned to Diarbekir
with her other children. In nine years Memdo Bey treated Manushag very well,
then he took another wife and began to illtreat her. During the Kurdish trouble
Memdo Bey was deported to Smyrna. Later he brought his two wives to the same
place. Six months later they were permitted to return to Haini. Manushag's
mother, who had come to Aleppo, knew that they were returning. She informed us,
and we helped her to save her daughter, when the train passed Aleppo.
Left our care: March 18,
1928. Living with her mother in Aleppo.
