After his father was killed, he himself was deported with his mother to Malatia. A Turk married her and kept also Nishan there. Mother and son lived seven years with the Turk.
When permission was granted for all Armenians to leave Turkey his mother fled with him, and came with a caravan of Armenians to this city. She was too poor to support her child so we took him in.
