In the beginning of the deportation her husband was a soldier in the Turkish Army. There he became ill and died. Satenig, her child, mother in law and sisters were deported to Souroudji. Her mother in law became ill on the road and died in Souroudji. The survivors were sent to Rakka. There her sisters were dragged away by Turks and she with her child went to Nissibin. An Arab of that town took her to his house and married her. Satenig lived eight years with the Arab all the time in Moosool.
She received a letter from her brother who is in America. She fled to the American mission. She was received and protected by this organization until Armenians got a passport for her. Later an Armenian committee sent her to us.
Learned embroidery and became selfsupporting. Later she came into connection with her relatives in America, who sent her a little help.

Went to Jerusalem as teacher October 20, 1925.
Married in America 1927.
