Her husband was put with many other unfortunate men in prison for the only reason of being Armenian. During their presence in the prison, the place was burnt down with the prisoners. Yeghsapet with her children and many other families was deported to Malatia. There she succeeded in placing her children in the Turkish orphanage and she was deported to Der-el-Zor.

In this town she found a place as a servant in an Arab family. Several months after her arrival, Armenian children were collected and killed outside the city in the most cruel way. Later Armenian women were collected too. Yeghsa was among them. Being on her way to death, a man who was sent by her mistress came and saved her and brought her back to Der-el-Zor. The rest of the unfortunate caravan was killed or burnt in the desert. After 3 years of service in the Arab family she married the son of the family with whom she lived five years. One year after her marriage she went with her husband to Djirablous. Once her husband went to a village in business, Armenians who knew her sent her by automobile to our Reception house here in Aleppo.

Found relatives here in Aleppo and went to live with them.
