Her parents died when she was a child. She and her aunt were deported to Gumush-Maden. Her aunt was killed there and she herself taken to a Turkish family living there as their child.

            When she heard about the American orphanages in Harpoot she fled by night and reached safely Harpoot where she was admitted in the orphanage. After two years she was discharged and so she went to a Turkish house and became a servant. During the Armenian emigration she fled from there, joined a caravan and reached Aleppo.

            Having no money and no knowledge of local languages, she was unable to support herself and so she came to us.

            She was not fit for the life in our house and was received in the Armenian asylum here in Aleppo.
