Giragos' father was killed during the Armenian massacre. His mother went as a servant to a Kourdish family. At this time Giragos was a little baby. His mother lived eight years among the Kourds, later she married an Armenian who was in the same house also working as a servant.

            After the Armistice his stepfather and mother came to Aleppo. His parents are very poor. His father could not find any job here. His mother brought him to us. When we saw that they really can’t support him we took him in.
