In the beginning of the deportation her father was killed. Margaret was taken by force to a Turkish house. Within a few days the Turk obliged her to marry him. She lived seven years with him. An Armenian woman who was in the same town helped her in fleeing and came with her to Aleppo.
Margaret found some of her relatives and she went to live with them.
