His father was taken as a soldier in the Turkish army and
his mother deported with five children. Months they were driven to and fro,
till they one day were near Severek. There Gorun's two brothers were killed. A
Kurd took possession of Gorun, and he was a shepherd by that man many years.
Once the Kurd went to Diarbekir, Gorun was with him. There Gorun met with an
Armenian, who hid him in his house till he was able sending him to Mardin. From
there our helper sent him per motor-car to Aleppo.
