During the war Mariam lost all her
relatives. She herself came into the possession of a Kurd of Veranshehir. That
man was a terrible one. He had four wives the fifth was Mariam. She made untold
efforts to make her way out of the dark abyss of misery in which she had to
disappear but each time she was caught and was punished at the peril of her
life. But Mariam in spite of all dangers had resolved earnestly to flee and she
made all possible efforts to rescue herself of that hell. At last, after eleven
years she succeeded to reach Mardin, then, with the help of our agent she
reached Aleppo. She suffers of rheumatism.
