His father was a soldier in the Turkish army when he was deported with his mother to the Aintab region. He and his mother were working three years in different Turkish houses in order to earn their bread.

An Armenian from Sooroodj took both of them to his village, hoping to help them. In Sooroodj a Turk took Hovagium to his house he remained there until his master was taken to the Turkish army.

Hovaguim fled to a village named Nizib and became the servant of the chief of the village, during five years he was there he fled three times, but he was caught and brought back. The last time he fled to Djerablus our agent saw him and sent him immediately to or Reception house here in Aleppo.

Found his mother and went to live with her.
