Her father was killed by a Turk before the war. Verjine was deported with her mother two sisters and brother. On the road her mother and one sister died. Her sister and brother could not go further and were left behind.
In Khabur an Arab of a nomadic tribe took her to his tent. She never heard anything about her relatives during the eight years she was there. An Armenian young man was serving in her neighbour's tent. He wanted to marry Verjine but his master did not agree. Verjine loved the Armenian boy too and so they decided to flee to Der-el-Zor. They succeeded and were sent from there to Aleppo.
She was married to No: 389, who brought her from the Arabs.
