The family was deported to Palou, where all the members where killed, excepting, Souren and his brother Garabed, who were living then in Kourdish houses in Tsharsandjak as servants. During the war the life was getting more expensive from day to day and and they could not find enough food in their master's house, so they fled from there to Gemery near Harpoot. They lived again in Turkish houses. After the Armistice, the American Near East Relief opened orphanages for Armenians in Harpoot. Souren knew about it, took his brother and so they started together for their way to Harpoot. They received there and came later with the orphanages to Aleppo.
Souren's uncle named Khachadur is living in America.
Souren learned a trade and became selfsupporting.
