During the deportation he lost his mother and his father was killed on the road. An Arab from Serin took Yeghia to his house and he lived with the Arab for 7 years.
Later he came to his sister who was married to an Arab, but her husband did not receive Yeghia. His sister advised him to go to his brother who was supposed to be in Abou-Jebbar, arrived there he was told that his brother had gone to Aleppo. Yeghia was supported by an Armenian miller for a few days and he later helped him on his way to Aleppo.
Yeghia could not find his brother in this city.
Yeghia always was worrying about his sister, and one day we found that he had run away to bring her out. We did not allow him to go, because we thought, he would be killed, but he did so on his own account.
Left our care: October 1922. He never came back. |
