Hovhannes does not remember
his father's name. When the deportation began, he was exiled with his parents,
1 brother and one sister, in the direction of Meskeni. On the road his parents,
brother and sister died of the cruelties, which the Turks inflicted upon them.
He himself, as the only survivor of his family was taken by an Arab to his
house. There he was for a time very tranquil, but when the Arab offered him to
another one, he fled to a neighbouring village and there he was protected by a
Turk. He remained 8 years there, during this time he lived as a farmer.
Once
he heard about our rescue house and came to Bab, from where by our agent he was
sent on to us.
Left
our care: March 19, 1926. Selfsupporting.
