The whole family was deported to Rakka. However, they found the way to escape from the massacres there and went to Depsin. Their horror was great when they stood on the river they could not pass when an Arab came and saw them. The Arab understood in what condition they were and so he told them that he would help them crossing the river if they would give him Setrag. They agreed and found it better to give Setrag instead of perishing all together. In fact, the Arab provided a boat and all passed excepting Setrag who went with the Arab to his house where he remained eight years. After eight years of hard work he decided to flee and succeeded in coming to us.

            We found his uncle in Alexandretta and he went to live with him.
