Relatives - mother in Aleppo

Sarkis does not remember much about the deportation. His mother, whom we have located in Aleppo, gave us the details.
He was exiled with his parents and two brothers. They reached Deir-el-Zor but paying a great sum to the chief of the gendarms were allowed to return to their native country. On reaching Membidj they were detained there and were forced to go to Meskene whence, to Rakka and again to Meskene. Thus they wandered on foot till his mother being exhausted remained on the road. The rest were sent again to Deir-el-Zor, where Sarkis lost his father, two brothers and was taken by an Arab to his house in Sindjar. His master’s name was Abdullah-Djibouri, with whom he had to live 12 years serving as a shepherd.
During a fight with the others, the trilce (???) was obliged to retire in the direction of Mousoul, where he had the chance to come into connection with some Armenians who advised him to flee away. So he did, and reached the Armenian church in Mosoul, whence was sent to us.

Sarkis is living with his mother in Aleppo.
