Hormig's husband was killed in the beginning of the war. She was deported with her children. On the road Kurds attacked the caravan, many of the deported women and children were killed only a few could flee, during this horrible time she lost her children. She herself was kept as a prisoner among the Kourds. Later she was set free and she went to Karadjia Dagh, there she found her children, but she could not take them, they were living in different Moslem houses as servants. Her big daughter was married to a Kourd.
Once going to Severek on business she met an Armenian who was going to Aleppo. He proposed her to join him, and promising her to sent her children later to Aleppo. She agreed and went with him.
