Antranig's parents were killed in their village but a Kourd took the little boy with him and carried him on to Hene, where he gave him to another Kourd. In this place he stayed some time until an Armenian woman took him and fled with him to Diarbeker.

There the Turkish government got hold of the woman and killed her. The boy would have been killed too, but as he was crying a Kurdish woman sprang forth and claimed him as her boy. Afterwards she sold him to a Turkish barber for two Medjidie.

Antranig in the meantime had quite forgotten his parents and did not even know his name or nationality, when once on the street an Armenian girl seized and kissed him and told him his identity, she had recognized him as her cousin. After this time she took care of him, as she could best. She found a place in a better Turkish house for him and afterwards she helped him to flee to Mardin, where he came to live among Armenians. Nobody however was able to or wanted to take care of him, so he took to the road again and went on to Ras-el-Ain, from where the French soldiers helped him on to Aleppo.

There seems to be some hope that an uncle of his should be living in America.

Antranig was accepted in the American orphanage June 15.
