The whole family was deported with Marash people to the Der-el-Zor region. Passing the Syrian desert hundreds of people died of thirst and hunger. His parents and sister were among them.
Garabed with his brothers arrived in Der-el-Zor and were taken to different Arab families. Garabed himself went to a nomadic tribe and lived there almost nine years. Being tired of this kind of life he fled to a city. There he met Armenians who told him about our work and orphanage. Garabed came directly to Aleppo and to our reception house.
Having no relatives and no money we took him in and are sending him to an artisan where he learns a trade.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
Left our care: April 2, 1925. Relatives.
