His
father was a soldier in the Turkish army, when he was deported with his mother
and younger sister to the villages near Mardin.
There a Circassian took Krikor
and his mother to his house and kept them one month. He then decided to sell
Krikor's mother to a Turk. She did not like and fled in the night and Krikor
did not know, but when he awoke in the morning and could not find his mother,
he also fled. He came to a Courdish village and remained there 10 years. He
always desired to return to his nation and to learn a trade. He fled 2 times,
but was caught and brought back to his master. The third time he succeeded and
came with two other Armenian boys to Hassitshe. There our agent saw him and
sent him immediately to our home in Aleppo.
