After her father’s death she was exiled with her mother to Diarbekir. Prapion was too small to endure the restless walks, so her mother gave her to a Turk, hoping to save the life of her child in this way. Her mother was sent further on.
Prapion lived seven years in the Turk's house being his servant. When she was grown up a little she desired to go back to her nation and to save her honour. In the meantime Armenians were permitted to leave Turkish territory. Prapion fled to an Armenian family within a few days she got a "passport" and started for Aleppo.
