His father was a soldier in the Turkish army, his mother
was deported with her five children. The little brother became tired and
stopped, the gendarms beat him but there was nothing to do. He could not go any
further. The next day one of his sisters died suddenly. After a few days the
caravan passed near a Kurdish village. The deported were attacked, some were
killed others wounded or taken prisoners. The older sister was violated in
their presence and then dragged into the village. Aroush was driven on with his
mother to a village named Babulan where a Turk married his mother. Aroush
became a shepherd with the neighbourhood. After four years he was taken to
another village where he lived among the Kurds until a few months ago. He heard
that his mother was living in Bab. He fled and went straight on to her and told
her about his plans of his escape. He went on following the way to Aleppo. On
his way he met an Armenian who showed him the Reception House.
