Garabed was deported with his
mother and one brother. He had lost his father when he was only two years of
age. Near Diarbekir a gendarm killed his brother and threw his dead body into
the water. A Kurd took his mother to his house and forced her to marry him.
Mother and child lived eleven years by the Kurd working hard for him, then his
mother became ill and died. After his mother's death he was ill-treated by his
step-father, therefore he left the Kurd's house and came to Mardin and with the
help of an Armenian priest he was sent to our Hassitshe agent, who sent him to
us. Went to our colony September 20, 1926.
Left
our care: June 1927. Joined his relatives in Baghdad.
