Giragos parents were killed in the general massacre of
the Armenians in the beginning of the war. A brother by name Mono had been
taken as a soldier and did not return. Another was killed by the Turks, and his
sister Altun had been forced to marry a Turk. Giragos and his elder brother
were exiled but after some days of travelling afoot with the caravan, they hid
themselves and returned to their native town. There Giragos' brother earned the
living from them several years. One day a Turk betrayed them to the government.
They were put in prison in Urfa and kept there two years. Then Giragos was
released. His brother is still in prison. Giragos fled to Djerablus from where
by our agent he was sent further on to us.
Left our care: September 20,
1927. Relatives, brother Aleppo.
