The whole family was deported to Rakka. Father and mother became ill on the road and died in Rakka. His brother and sister died a few days after their arrival.

An Arab took Hadjemi to his house and adopted him as his child. Three years later the Arab became very poor and could not support him. Hadjemi went to the Anezes' tents and lived five years among the Arabs, being a shepherd. Later he became ill. The Arabs did not want him any longer about them and they sent him away. Hadjemi went to the mill near Rakka, there he met some Armenian millers. He told them about his hard life, how he lost all the members of the family. The millers sheltered him for a few days among them and later they sent him directly to our Reception house here in Aleppo.

His uncle is in America.

His sister was found in Damascus and he went to live with her.

Left our care: January 31, 1924. Relatives.
