Barkev does not remember well the time of the
deportation. He tells us that he was deported with his mother to a village
named "Cousser" in the district of Antioch. There his mother became
ill and died after much suffering. He himself was left all alone among the
Turks of the village. A Turk from this village took him to his house and kept
him as his shepherd. Until now Barkev was living among the Mohammedans. As they
called him "Christian dog" he became angry and left the village. When
he came to Aleppo he heard about our Reception-Home. He came to us and we took
him in.
January 1930 went to
Basmadian's house. He is learning the tailor trade.
