Vartan's father was killed on the road. The mother worked for a long time as a servant in a Kurdish house to keep her child. Some years later she died. He was now working for the Kurd without recompense. Finally he got tired of that and fled to Syria. Our agent sent him to us. 

He is now learning a trade.
